thought of the day: Kanye West is so good precisely because he’s so bad. He pushes the level of asshole and douchebaggery in his persona to such an extreme, and he pushes the level of overproduction and surface in his records to such an extreme, that the results somehow become sincere and powerful and allow us to revel in our own guilty absurdities and contradictions. It’s like libertarianism becoming anarchism.
